The kibbutzim and moshavim farming communities in the Western Negev are responsible for producing Israel's food and pioneering climate resilient technologies for the world. The October 7th attacks devastated those farming communities. Over $500 million in farmer income was lost, 40,000 hectares of agricultural land damaged, vital farming equipment, including tractors and planters, destroyed or stolen. The killing and kidnapping of foreign workers has caused a labor crisis and shortage of more than 10,000 experienced farmworkers. Rebuilding and strengthening agriculture in the western Negev is essential. It underpins Israel's food security, the local economy and is a powerful symbol of the Israeli pioneering spirit. ReGrow Israel was established days after the October 7th attacks by Israeli farmers, NGOs, and agricultural experts and is supported by global leaders.
